Ceiling Fan Installation Services

Installed Correctly. The First Time.

A ceiling fan is one of the most cost-effective upgrades you can make to your home — cutting cooling costs, improving airflow, and making every room more comfortable year-round.

But installation is trickier than it looks.

Wrong electrical box. Metal studs. No existing wiring. A fan that wobbles on day one because the blades weren’t balanced.

Small Size Jobs handles all of it. We install ceiling fans throughout the Oklahoma City metro area — correctly, safely, and without the headaches.

What’s Included in Every Installation

No surprises, no hidden charges. Every ceiling fan installation includes:

  • Removal and disposal of your old fan or light fixture
  • Assembly of your new fan (still in the box? No problem)
  • Verification or replacement of the electrical box — it must be fan-rated, not standard
  • Proper wiring and connection, including fan/light combo switching
  • Blade balancing so your fan runs smooth and quiet from day one
  • Full cleanup before we leave

Have multiple fans to install? Great — we can knock out your whole list in a single visit.

Why Ceiling Fan Installation Is Trickier Than It Looks

The electrical box must be fan-rated

A standard light fixture box is not designed to support the weight and motion of a ceiling fan. Using the wrong box causes wobbling, premature wear, and in worst cases the fan can come down from the ceiling entirely. We always verify the box before the fan goes up — and replace it if needed.

Metal studs change everything

Newer construction in Oklahoma commonly uses metal framing. Standard fan brace kits don’t anchor the same way into metal studs. We carry the right hardware and know how to create a solid, safe mount regardless of what’s behind your drywall.

Wiring isn’t always straightforward

Older homes sometimes have a single wire run to the ceiling with no separate switch leg for the fan and light. We assess your existing wiring before starting and give you honest options — whether that’s a simple swap, a remote control kit, or a referral to a licensed electrician for circuit work.

Balance matters more than people think

A wobbling fan puts constant stress on the mount over time. We balance every fan we install using a balancing kit so it runs quietly and lasts longer.

Types of Ceiling Fans We Install

We install all major brands and styles:

  • Standard ceiling fans (flush mount and downrod)
  • Hugger / low-profile fans for rooms with low ceilings
  • Dual-motor and multi-directional fans
  • Outdoor-rated fans for covered patios and porches
  • Smart fans with WiFi and remote control
  • Fans with integrated light kits

Already purchased your fan? Perfect — just have it ready and we’ll handle everything from there.

Pricing

We offer two pricing structures depending on your situation:

Flat rate — For standard swaps (existing wiring, fan-rated box already in place). You’ll know the price before we start.

Hourly — For more complex installs involving box replacement, new wiring, high ceilings, or multiple fans. No surprise charges — we give you an estimate upfront.

Have other small jobs on your list? We love stacking tasks into one visit — it saves you time and maximizes the value of our trip.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to buy the fan before you arrive? Yes — we recommend purchasing it yourself so you get exactly the style, size, and features you want. We’ll assemble and install it. If you’d like us to source a fan for you, we can do that for a small additional fee.

How long does installation take? A standard swap typically takes 45–60 minutes per fan. More complex installs take longer. We’ll give you a realistic timeframe when you book.

My fan wobbles — can you fix it without replacing it? Usually yes. Wobbling is most often caused by unbalanced blades or loose mounting hardware. We can diagnose and fix it in most cases without a full replacement.

Can you install a fan where there’s currently only a light fixture? In most cases, yes — as long as the electrical box is fan-rated (or we replace it) and there’s a switch available. We’ll assess and walk you through the options.

Do you work with vaulted or high ceilings? Yes. We carry extension downrods for vaulted ceilings and angled ceiling mounts. For very high ceilings (above 12–14 feet), we’ll let you know during the estimate if any special equipment is needed.

What if there’s no existing ceiling fan wiring? If there’s no wiring at the location, running a new circuit requires a licensed electrician. We’ll tell you honestly if that’s the case. In many situations, a remote control kit can eliminate the need for rewiring entirely — we’ll suggest the best path for your home.
