Every home tells a story through its walls. Doorknob holes. Nail pops. Settlement cracks above door frames. Water stains from a leak that’s long been fixed.
The problem isn’t the damage — it’s finding someone who will actually come out and fix it.
Most contractors aren’t interested in a single drywall patch. It’s too small for their crew and not worth their minimum. That’s exactly why Small Size Jobs exists.
We specialize in the small repairs homeowners can’t get anyone else to touch — and drywall patching is one of our most requested services. We fix it, texture it, and blend it so well you won’t be able to find the spot after we’re done.
The most common repair we see. Doorknob punches through the wall. A bracket pulled from the drywall. An accidental elbow during a move. We patch holes of all sizes — from nail holes to fist-sized gaps — using the right technique for each size so the repair holds long-term.
As homes settle over time, drywall screws can push through the surface and create small bumps or craters in your walls. This is extremely common in Oklahoma homes due to our expansive clay soil and shifting foundations. We re-seat the fastener, apply compound, and smooth it flush.
Oklahoma’s clay soil causes foundations to move seasonally — expanding when wet, contracting when dry. The result is hairline cracks, especially above door frames and in corners. We fill, tape, and finish these properly so they don’t just reappear in a few months.
A fixed leak leaves behind stained, soft, or bubbling drywall that looks terrible even after the water is gone. We cut out the damaged section, replace it with new drywall, apply stain-blocking primer, and finish with texture and paint to match. Note: we always confirm the leak source is fully resolved before starting — patching over active moisture is never the right call.
This is where most DIY repairs fail. Oklahoma homes have a wide variety of wall textures — orange peel, knockdown, skip trowel, and smooth — and matching the existing texture is an art. We have the tools and experience to blend patches seamlessly into the surrounding wall so the repair disappears once painted.
Drywall corners take a beating from furniture, doorways, and everyday traffic. Dented or cracked corner bead looks sloppy and only gets worse over time. We replace or repair damaged corner bead and refinish it cleanly.
Sometimes a patch isn’t enough — the damage is too extensive or the drywall is too deteriorated. We cut out and replace full sections of drywall, properly taping, mudding, and finishing the seams so they’re invisible.
Not all drywall repairs are the same, and the technique matters as much as the materials. Here’s how we approach different sizes:
Small holes (under 1 inch) — Lightweight spackle or joint compound, sanded smooth. Quick and clean.
Medium holes (1–6 inches) — California patch method using drywall compound and mesh or paper tape. No backing board needed.
Large holes (6 inches and up) — Cut to stud or use a backing board for a solid foundation, then full drywall patch with tape and multiple coats of compound.
Cracks — Fiber mesh tape embedded in joint compound, feathered wide to prevent recracking.
We always use the correct approach for the damage at hand — not the fastest shortcut.
Getting the patch invisible after painting requires matching your existing wall texture. Oklahoma homes commonly have:
We assess your texture before starting and match it as closely as possible. In most cases, the repair is undetectable once painted — even to us.
Yes — we offer paint touch-ups as part of the repair process. If you have the original paint color on hand, we’ll blend the patched area so it matches seamlessly. If you don’t have the original paint, we can help you identify the closest match or paint the entire wall for a clean, consistent finish.
Drywall repair pricing depends on the size, number, and complexity of the repairs needed. We offer:
Flat rate — For common single repairs like a doorknob hole or a few nail pops. You’ll know the price before we start.
Hourly — For larger projects, multiple repairs, or full section replacements. Always quoted upfront with no surprise charges.

Oklahoma has some of the most expansive clay soil in the country. When it rains, the soil swells. When it dries out, it shrinks. This constant movement causes more foundation shifting than most other states — which means more cracks, more nail pops, and more settling damage inside your walls.
It’s not a sign something is wrong with your home. It’s just Oklahoma. And it’s exactly why we stay busy.
How long does a drywall repair take? Small patches (nail holes, single doorknob holes) take 30–60 minutes. Larger patches or multiple repairs take longer. Keep in mind that joint compound needs to dry fully before texture and paint can be applied — for larger repairs we may need a second visit or leave primed patches for you to paint once dry.
Can you match my wall texture? In most cases, yes. Oklahoma homes have a few common textures and we carry the tools to replicate them. We’ll assess your texture when we arrive. Perfectly blending an unusual or hand-applied texture is trickier, but we’ll always give you an honest assessment before starting.
Do I need to have paint ready? It helps. If you have the original paint, we can touch up the patched area immediately. If not, we prime and finish the patch so it’s ready for you to paint, or we can source the closest match for an additional fee.
Will the crack come back? Hairline cracks caused by foundation settling can reappear if the underlying movement continues. We repair them correctly with tape and compound to minimize recurrence, but in Oklahoma homes with active soil movement, no repair is guaranteed to be permanent. We’ll let you know what to expect honestly.
Do you repair water-damaged drywall? Yes — but only after the source of the moisture has been fully resolved. We’ll ask you to confirm the leak is fixed before we start. Patching over active moisture always fails.
Can you do a whole room? Yes. Whether it’s a handful of nail holes or a full room refresh with new drywall, patching, texture, and paint, we can handle it. Larger projects are quoted by the job.
